Paper vs. Computer

A question that many beginning writers ask is, “should I use pencil and paper, or a computer to do my work?’

The answer to that is really up to you. If you feel more comfortable writing your thoughts on paper and transcribing them to the computer later, go right ahead and do that. If you can’t be bothered with transcribing, use a computer. It saves time, but it’s less healthy.

There are pros and cons to both methods. Writing on paper is definitely easier on the eyes and can even be therapeutic, whereas the computer screen comes with eyestrain and radiation. Writing on paper, however, can be inefficient if your working with a deadline. Handwriting takes longer than typing and you will still have to transcribe the note at some point.

Choose the method that works best for you, at any given time.

At the end of the day, it’s really up to you. So whichever method you choose, write right!
